BETA News

On October 15, 2009, Beta had its annual election for club officers. Before the election, the candidates had to campaign for about a month and promote why they were the best choice for that office. When it was time to count the votes, everyone got quiet (yeah right!!!). The voting was very close, but the winners of the 2009 BETA Officer Election are:  President, Luke McMorris; Vice President, Samuel Taylor; Secretary, Toni Watts; Treasurer, Ben Cutrer; Recreational Officer, Kelsey Boudreaux;  Chaplin, Maggie Scardina; Photographer, Bailey Turner and last, but not least…Tyler Hampton; Reporter. Congratulations to our new officers and good luck!

In other news, our BETA Club helped with the 2009 French Settlement Creole Festival on October 19th. They planned and helped with all of the children’s games. The Historical Society of French Settlement and Mrs. Collins would like to thank members and parents for their help to make the festival a successful event.

Also, as a brief reminder, keep your grades up and earn your 60 BETA points! Also for old members, please PAY YOUR DUES ($10) by the next meeting (November 19th) or you will get the boot! We will also be inviting new members (5th grade) to join the BETA club for November’s meeting.  That’s the BETA news for now, so keep up the good work and good luck!
