AUGUST 16TH - ALL KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS ATTEND Dear Parents, I want to thank you for taking the time to complete the survey that was sent out a couple of weeks ago! Many of you had very nice things to say about Frost School. It is always good to get positive feedback. Over 100 surveys were turned in. What great participation! I will briefly go over some of the important issues in the surveys. Most of you prefer programs and activities to take place after 4:00 in the afternoon. This will be the guideline for next year's programs. Homework help and test preparation topped the list of workshop subjects you would like to see explored next year. In addition, internet safety is a real concern. We have done this type of workshop before. I really would like to see a much better turn out if something like this is planned. Your suggestions for how we can improve and what programs you want will be shared with the administration and teachers. The majority of people get their information from flyers, the school website, the school calendar and the sign out front. We will work on keeping you informed, which brings me to my next topic. Many of you would like to have notice of activities much earlier than you are getting them. Please check with your child to be sure he/she is getting the information to you the very first time it goes out. By letting those who are responsible for planning certain activities realize that this is a problem, maybe it can be worked out for the betterment of all involved. Janice King

PARENT INTEREST SURVEYS Parents, I wanted you to know how much Frost School appreciated your parti-cipation in our Parent Interest Survey which was given out during Open House and later in the classroom. Over eighty parents filled out and returned the form. The Parental Involvement Committee met to look over these surveys. The suggested topics for workshops, the time of day that activities might begin, and the type of family involvement activities to have were open for discussion. It was great to see that for the most part, the activities that Frost School has chosen to do this year are what parents want to see done as indicated in the survey. Now for the results of the survey: (1) Parents want homework help. (2) Internet safety, Power School and On course training are of interest. (3) Discipline and bullying are of concern. (4) A time frame from 4-7 is the suggested time for most activities. Since Frost is a Title I school, the school is mandated to cover certain topics, so we will do our best to follow the suggestions found in the surveys. Special thanks to a couple of parents who were pleased about things and spoke up in the survey! "How nice the supply bundles are," wrote one parent. "Frost School has good teachers," wrote another one. This Spring you will get to tell us if we did a good job fulfilling the survey suggestions. A Parent Satisfaction Survey will be sent out and we really want feedback from you, the parent! Janice King, Title I DIBELS Lab SAVE COMMUNITY COFFEE UPC’S. LIVINGSTON PARISH NEWS ONLINE
